PWM Output Sensor
PWM stands for (Pulse Width Modulation) and it is the communication system that modulates the changed duty ratio of the pulse wave. It does not change the voltage magnitude and the cycle but only the width of the high level (ON) of the pulse is changed.
By changing the duty ratio (the ratio of high-level of the pulse within 1 cycle), the transmission signal is changed.
PWM features superb controllability and high efficiency. It is used for DC motor control, control valve, pump, hydraulic, and the inverter circuit.
PWM output sensor features resistance to voltage noise and the variation of the ground potential. The PWM signal is able to be read by the timer or counter board of the microcomputer easily. Moreover, since PWM output sensor resists external noise compared to the voltage output sensor, it is suitable for a long-distance communication* up to a length of about 10m. *Long-distance communication: see “4-20mA Current Output Sensor“
